Games as a tool for dialogue: Highlights from Reykjavík 🎮

How can games help us understand different perspectives, bring people together and open up new conversations?

That was one of the questions explored during A Conversation on Games and Diplomacy, hosted at Gróska hugmyndahús in Reykjavík.

The afternoon brought together participants to explore how games and immersive experiences can support dialogue around young people, communities and the future of the Arctic.

Through role-play, VR/XR, board games and open discussions, participants stepped into different roles, tested ideas and explored challenges from new perspectives. The activities created opportunities to exchange experiences, question assumptions and find common ground.

At Creative Crowd, we see games as more than entertainment. They can be tools for learning, collaboration and innovation, helping people engage with complex topics in a more interactive and accessible way.

This event was an opportunity to put that approach into practice - combining playful experiences with meaningful conversations about real-world challenges.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us in Reykjavík and helped make the afternoon engaging, curious and full of new ideas. 💙

The conversation doesn't end here. We look forward to continuing to explore how games and immersive technologies can create new opportunities for dialogue, particularly in Arctic and rural communities.
