Quest Log // Next Destination: Brussels

This October, InnoGS is heading to Brussels to take part in the European Week of Regions and Cities 2026 - and we'd love to tell you a little about what we'll be bringing to the event.

Together with our partners Region Västerbotten, Ardán, the University of Iceland (Háskóli Íslands), and Savonia University of Applied Sciences, we'll be hosting an interactive session that explores an important question:

What happens when we step into someone else's role?

Regional development is built by many different people—policymakers, educators, young people, local authorities, innovators, community leaders, and citizens. Each perspective matters, but meaningful progress happens when those perspectives come together.

That's the idea behind our session:

🎭 Play Your Part: Roleplay for Rural Development - Shaping Youth Opportunities Together

We'll begin with a short panel discussion before inviting participants into an interactive roleplay experience. By taking on different roles, attendees will explore how empathy, dialogue, and collaboration can help shape stronger rural communities and create better opportunities for young people.

Rather than simply talking about collaboration, participants will experience it from multiple perspectives - discovering how different priorities, challenges, and viewpoints influence the decisions that shape our regions.
