Strengthening the Future of Esports in Northern Sweden
Creative Crowd recently had the opportunity to participate in Society Expo 2026, where engaging discussions highlighted the growing role of esports in creating positive social impact and fostering inclusive communities.
One of the event's most inspiring sessions explored how esports can support individuals who face challenges in everyday life. The presentation demonstrated how gaming and esports can provide opportunities for social connection, personal development, confidence-building, and a sense of belonging. We would like to extend our thanks to RF-SISU Västerbotten for organizing this valuable and thought-provoking session.
The conversations continued beyond the conference stage during an evening dinner, where representatives from Gällivare Esport, FUZED, and members of the Swedish Esports Federation's board gathered to discuss the future of esports in Northern Sweden. The exchange of ideas highlighted both the opportunities and the growing momentum within the region's gaming and esports ecosystem.
These discussions strongly connect with Creative Crowd's ongoing work through the InnoGS project, funded by Interreg Northern Periphery and Arctic (Interreg NPA). The project brings together industry partners, educational institutions, public organizations, and esports stakeholders to strengthen innovation, collaboration, and sustainable growth within gaming and esports across Northern Sweden and the Arctic region.
What stood out throughout the event was the passion, commitment, and willingness to collaborate among organizations working to develop the region's future. As esports continues to evolve beyond competition into a platform for innovation, education, inclusion, and community building, partnerships across sectors become increasingly important.
We are encouraged by the energy and ambition we witnessed at Society Expo and look forward to continuing these conversations, building new collaborations, and exploring the opportunities ahead for gaming, esports, and innovation in Northern Sweden.
